Photocomposites
| Pixel Art was started by Patrick King when he
wanted to begin to distribute his many photos that he felt were
just "collecting dust."
Pat
has spent nearly 40 years taking photos as he has been hiking,
backpacking, or cycling throughout the western United States
and Canada. He was born in Idaho but moved to Utah at an
early age. He came to love the varied landscapes of Utah. From
the red rock deserts to the high snow covered mountains, he has
never been able to say he liked one better than the other. He
loves them both. He says, "The only thing we don't have
in Utah are the beautiful beaches of California, Oregon and Washington."
Pat
graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Architecture
degree but has used his design training in many other fields. Before
graduating he had already found that photography was the path
he wanted to follow for his future work. Rather than doing
a building design for his thesis project, he wrote a research
report on Pueblo Indian religious architecture which included
many photographs and drawings. This project has since been published
as a book and recently was turned into a web site for the Internet.
For
many years Pat photographed buildings for architects in Salt
Lake City and throughout the West. He also created multi-image
slide shows for architects and industrial clients using computers
to control two to ten slide projectors at a time. This
led to his use of computers for graphics.
Pat
now designs web sites for the Internet. This has taken him
into the world of digital photography which has eliminated the many
hours he used to spend in the darkroom. See
Fine Art Prints.
He
enjoys bringing a photo or groups of photos into Photoshop and seeing
what might evolve. It can take many hours, or days, to remove
a background in order to blend two or more photos into one. Pat
hopes that you enjoy having these photos in your home or office
as much as he enjoys creating them.

2002 Winter Olympics at Snowbasin near Ogden, Utah.
