The
Process The
photos are scanned from the original transparencies. I then personally
bring the images into Adobe Photoshop to ready them for printing
or to modify them by combining two or more photos into photocomposites.
I fine-tune the images, so you are getting a hand-crafted print
that matches what I envisioned when the image was captured on film.
The
images are then printed in my studio using the Epson printer with
Ultrachrome inks, insuring a lifespan of 75 - 100 years. The images
are printed on fine-art papers, each selected for the best rendering
of the image. Even the mattes for framing the print have become
a part of the photo. Even the custom matte colors are drawn from
the colors in the photos. The results can be seen as the photos
become fine-art prints with long lasting archival qualities.
Expected
Display Life of Digital Prints
Currently
the archival calculation determined by Wilheim Imaging Research
is 75 - 100 years, in normal display conditions.
Care
should be taken, as with any piece of fine art, not to expose the
image to high levels of moisture or sunlight. The print should be
treated as a quality fine art painting. Choosing a location having
normal humidity levels and minimum exposure to uultra violet light
will provide many years of pleasurable viewing.
